In Version 4.1, the “Colorize” materials for URP and HDRP may negate the need for color masks or PSD files since you can easily pick your own color. But these masks and PSD files were kept for those who may need the hands-on approach for more control or those who may need the performance gain by pre-preparing the textures.

To make it easier for developers to manually create their own colors in Photoshop, a pre-prepared PSD file has been added which uses all the included masks in the bonus files pack. Using the PSD file you can easily remove logos or wreathing. You can also easily change colors.

Please note that if you do change the color map, you would need to make sure the Metallic Smoothness map matches it. A clean version of the Metallic Smoothness map is already included in the original USC pack inside the Masks folder of each spaceship set textures folder.

If you do not have Photoshop you could consider open source software like GIMP and use the provided masks instead of the PSD file.

You will also find a layers/masks folder inside the PSD file. This contains all the masks you need to modify textures or create your own colors. These can be used inside Photoshop or any other photo editing software.

You can start off with the neutral map or one of the original textures then start editing it using filters/ color balance etc.. using those masks.
